HOT - Soleil Moon Frye who used to play the role of Punky Brewster

Soleil Moon Frye was born 1976 in California.  Soleil is best known for her role as Penelope 'Punky' Brewster in the TV show Punky Brewster.  She is also recognized as Roxie King in Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

Soleil got her start in television on the TV movie Missing Children: A Mother's Story in 1982 co-starring Mare Winningham, Polly Holliday, Kate Capshaw, Scatman Crothers, Mary McCusker, Peter Scolari, John Anderson, and Jane Wyatt.  The next year she starred in Little Shots with Kevin Berlat, Erin Nicole Brown, Jennifer Edwards, and Jeff Cohen.  She did another TV movie that year, Who Will Love My Children? co-starring Ann-Margret, Frederic Forrest, Donald Moffat, Cathryn Damon, Rachel Jacobs, and Tracey Gold.

It was the following year in 1984 when she was just 8 years old that she landed the role of Penelope 'Punky' Brewster in Punky Brewster the story of an abandoned girl and her dog who was adopted by Henry Warnimont.  The show co-starred George Gaynes (Henry Warnimont), Cherie Johnson (Cherie Johnson) , Susie Garrett (Betty Johnson), Ami Foster (Margeaux Kramer), and of course Brandon the Wonder Dog. Soleil played the role for 88 episodes until the show ended in 1988.

During the Punky Brewster years, Soleil also made other appearances in TV shows and movies such as Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter co-starring Jeff Goldblum, Melody Anderson, Madolyn Smith Osborne, John Glover, Cloris Leachman, and Edie Adams (1984); Invitation to Hell co-starring Robert Urich, Joanna Cassidy, Susan Lucci, Joe Regalbuto, Patty McCormack, and Barret Oliver (1984); Diff'rent Strokes starring Gary Coleman, Todd Bridges, Conrad Bain, and Dana Plato (1985); and the animated It's Punky Brewster co-starring Ami Foster, George Gaynes, Cherie Johnson, and Frank Welker for 3 episodes.

After Punky Brewster, Soleil made another attempt at a TV series Cadets co-starring Richard Roundtree, Barclay DeVeau, and Jaleel White who made the character 'Erkel' well known.  The show only lasted a short time.  She appeared in other TV movies and shows such as Where's Rodney? co-starring Josh Berman, Danny Capri, Dah-ve Chodan, Jane Daly, Rodney Dangerfield, and Sean De Veritch (1990); The Wonder Years starring Fred Savage, Josh Saviano, Danica McKellar, Dan Lauria, Alley Mills, and Olivia d'Abo (1990); and Saved by the Bell starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Mario López, Dustin Diamond, Lark Voorhies, Elizabeth Berkley, Tiffani Thiessen, and Dennis Haskins (1992).

Soleil also did voice work for Tiny Toon Adventures in 1992 and also starred in The Liars' Club Wil Wheaton, Brian Krause, Bruce Weitz, and Michael Cudlitz (1993); Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings co-starring Andrew Robinson, Ami Dolenz, Gloria Hendry, and Steve Kanaly of Dallas fame (1994); The St. Tammany Miracle co-starring Jamie Luner, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Julie McCullough, and Steve Allen (1994); Summertime Switch co-starring Jason Weaver, Rider Strong, Teresa Ganzel, Richard Moll, and Barry Williams (1994); Heaven Help Us starring John Schneider, Melinda Clarke, Kimberly Ross, and Ricardo Montalban (1994); Run a Mile... co-starring Rob Benedict and Jenny Lewis (1995); Twisted Love co-starring Lisa Dean Ryan, Sasha Jenson, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, and Nancy Harewood  (1995); Piranha starring William Katt, Alexandra Paul, Monte Markham, Mila Kunis, Kehli O'Byrne, and Shannon Farrara (1995); Mind Games Brian Krause, Maria Ford, Raina Paris, and Ingrid Sthare (1996);




Rounding out the '90s, Soleil starred in The Secret with Ari Meyers, Tess Harper, Mark Kassen, Erika Flores, and Joanna Canton (1997); Motel Blue co-starring Sean Young, Rob Stewart, and Robert Vaughn (1997); Wild Horses with Scott Caan, James Duval, Danny Masterson, and Heather McComb (1998); I've Been Waiting for You co-starring Sarah Chalke, Ben Foster, Christian Campbell, Maggie Lawson, Julie Patzwald, and Markie Post (1998);  Friends starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow (1999); and Grown Ups starring Jaleel White, Dave Ruby and Marissa Ribisi.

In 2000, Soleil Moon Frye won the role of Roxie King on the TV show Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.  She co-starred with Melissa Joan Hart, Caroline Rhea, Nick Bakay, Nate Richert, Jenna Leigh Green and Beth Broderick.  Soleil played the role for 65 episodes until the show ended in 2003.  The following year in parrallel, Frye began the voice role of Zoey on The Proud Family animated TV series for 46 episodes until 2005.  She topped it off by lending her voice to the tv movie The Proud Family Movie starring Kyla Pratt, Tommy Davidson, Paula Jai Parker, Tara Strong, and Arsenio Hall (2005).

Also in the new millennium, Frye starred in movies and show such as The Girls' Room co-starring Wil Wheaton, Catherine Taber, Gary Wolf, and Michelle Brookhurst (2000); Sex and a Girl aka Alex in Wonder starring Angela Gots, Robert Hays, Ellen Greene, Sean Flynn, Danny Masterson, Alison Lohman, Lisa Brenner, and Geneviève Bujold (2001); Bratz the Video: Starrin' & Stylin' co-starring Ogie Banks, Tia Mowry and Olivia Hack  (voice 2004); She also starred her voice in Bratz Rock Angelz video game in 2005; followed by the Bratz TV series and another video game Bratz: Forever Diamondz (2006);

Soleil guest starred her voice in a couple of Robot Chicken TV shows in 2009 which starred Seth Green, Breckin Meyer and Dan Milano.  Frye also used her voice again in 2010 in the series pilot of Planet Sheen with Jeffrey Garcia, Jeff Bennett,  Jeff Garcia, Bob Joles, and Candi Milo.

Recently she starred in the soon to be released For Better or for Worse co-starring Janeane Garofalo, Patrick Muldoon, Chad Allen, Brad Rowe, and Rebecca Gayheart.  Surely we'll be seeing a great deal more of Soleil in the future.
